This Tuesday, June 30 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. art, ecology and architecture enthusiasts are invited to join a free webinar hosted by Arcosanti, the Center for Architecture and Archtober, New York City’s annual architecture and design month celebrating the rich cultural and architectural history of the city. Tim Bell, director of community engagement for The Cosanti Foundation and Arcosanti, serves as the keynote speaker. This live event is part of Archtober’s virtual Travel To series, which seeks to highlight iconic architecture and historically significant sites across the United States. Participants will “travel to” Arcosanti, nestled in the high desert of Arizona, where residents seek a vision of future cities, and what the thriving communities supported by them, could look like. Arcosanti offers a solution to urban sprawl that stresses the planet and fractures a sense of community by putting too much distance between people. For more information about the event and to register, visit https://calendar.aiany.org/2020/06/30/arcology-at-arcosanti/. Once registered, participants will receive an email with link to access the program. While the webinar is free, guests are invited to support Archtober with a donation via www.2019.archtober.org.
